FAQ's Frequently Asked Question's For technical queries about the site and products please check the technophobes page. Is there anything I should check before using this video? Regular physical activity is fun and healthy, being more active is very safe for most people. However some people should check with their doctor before they start becoming much more physically active. These seven Pre questionnaire questions will tell you if you should check with your doctor before you start. Pre questionnaire Please read the seven questions carefully and answer each one honestly. 1) Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and that you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor? 2) Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity? 3) In the past month have you had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity? 4) Do you lose you balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness? 5) Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in physical activity? 6) Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs (for example water pills) for your blood pressure or heart condition? 7) Do you know of any other reason why you shouldn’t do physical activity? If you answered YES to one or more questions Talk to your doctor by phone or in person BEFORE you start to become much more active. Tell them which question you answered yes to and follow their advise. NO to all questions If you answered no to all question honestly you can be reasonably sure that you can start becoming more physically active. How often should I work out? According to UK government guidelines as a minimum, adults should be doing a total of 30 minutes of at least moderate exercise five or more times a week. Do I have to do all the suggested exercise in one go? The same UK guidelines say that you can do it in one go or you could do it in batches of ten minutes which can include everyday activities such as a brisk walk (for the bus, to work or the shops). How does your video fit in to the suggested guidelines? Each section of the video runs in 5 min sections allowing you to build up by doing 1 or 2 at a time, or being 30 minutes in total you could do it all in one go. Alternatively you could go for a brisk walk for 5 minutes then do a part of the video. The combinations are endless. What should I wear when doing the workout? Comfortable training clothes that allow you to move and training shoes. For example shorts and a vest or a track suit and trainers or sneakers. I would not recommend doing this in heels. Will this make me ache? There is a possibility, as with all new exercise that you will get what we call in the industry "DOMS" (Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness). This can kick in anything from 12 to 48 hours after working out and can last up to a week. As with any pain, if pain persists over a week then seek medical advise.
